About Mayflower Weddings and Events
Romantic, Fine Art Floral Design for South West Weddings
Mayflower began in 2018 as a mother-daughter dream — Mum designing flowers, and me photographing weddings. As time passed, I found myself more drawn to the blooms than the lens.
From early mornings at flower markets to long nights prepping petals, I fell in love with the quiet rhythm of floral design.

LAURA
Founder of Mayflower
I’m a florist and artist based in the South West, with a background in art and photography that deeply informs my floral work. I approach colour, form, and texture through an artist’s lens, always chasing beauty in the details.
I’m deeply intuitive with the design process and passionate about celebrating every floral project at its highest potential. I love working with colour, soft garden-style florals, and textured elements like banksias and glossy, sculptural orchids.
When I’m not in the studio creating floral work for weddings across the South West, I’m likely out in nature — camera in hand — soaking in light, shadow, and the quiet shifts of the seasons. That connection to the natural world underpins everything I create, whether it's an immersive floral installation or a gallery piece.
TAMAR
Tamar is the heart behind Mayflower — the one who first taught me to see flowers not just as decoration, but as living things with their own presence and poetry.
Her floral journey began at the Manjimup Florist, and later led her to co-own Flowers on Prince in Busselton with her sister. Over the years, she’s freelanced for countless florists, always bringing her quiet intuition and natural elegance to every arrangement.
These days, her creativity blooms in the garden — nurturing a dreamy cottage garden in Busselton where she lovingly grows flowers from seed. One day, we hope to open our own cut flower garden and share its beauty with our community.
ANJA
Freelance Florist & Texture Whisperer
Anja joined Mayflower in late 2023 and has been weaving magic into our studio ever since. She brings a beautifully intuitive approach to floral design — with a trained eye for texture, movement, and natural rhythm that makes every arrangement feel alive.
She’s a sustainably trained florist, passionate about working plastic-free and using only locally grown flowers. Her values align so deeply with ours, and her presence in the studio is pure joy — creative, kind, and always full of heart.
Working alongside Anja feels like watching poetry take shape in flowers.

“Laura did an absolutely incredible job of the flowers for our wedding in March. The ground arbour was so stunning and I couldn't stop staring at it even during the ceremony! She was a pleasure to work with and really understood our vision. We received so many wonderful comments on how beautiful the flowers were, especially from guests who were lucky enough to take home one of the stunning centre table arrangements. Thank-you Laura for your time, talents and beautiful work!”

“II can’t thank Laura enough for the job she did, it’s very daunting planning a wedding there are so many things to consider and so many decisions to make. You can only hope that you find vendors who make this whole process easier for you and Laura is one of them! Laura made our wedding look beautiful, I had so many compliments on the flowers a lot of our guests said they had never seen anything like it before. We cannot recommend Laura enough she is fantastic at her job.”
